The GDTV Guide is now open and ready for you guys to try out! Let me know if there’s any issues, it’s been a surprisingly difficult thing to pull off so there may be some bumps along the way but we’ll get them sorted ASAP as they come up
Now, the guide itself is built by monitoring what is playing and once we’ve captured the full playlist it can build out the future airings. What this means though is that once a playlist change has been detected it has to rebuild the guide by waiting until it loops through the full thing again before we can show future airings. So if a playlist is changed on Friday, it could be 24-30+ hours before it loops through the full thing and we have an upcoming guide again (previously aired will work in this time however).
In addition to just viewing what’s on, you can comment on videos (which auto sync between the forum and the guide so you can view and add comments in either place), add shows to your watchlist, rate them and set reminders for future airings. You’ll also find a GDTV tab in your Reject Club account where you can see what you’ve marked watched, what is on your watchlist and some stats for your watch history.
I’ll post any changes in this thread and please reply here as well with any bugs you encounter or feature requests.
Genius, very impressive. I’m not sure i’m completely down with the retro styling but I get that you’re mimicking the channel so understandable. I think a more modern approach would be better but regardless it’s really awesome to be able to view what is coming and it will be a big improvement when we can see what is new on the list each week.
I actually pivoted to a more modern style towards the end and it honestly just didn’t feel right and so I went back to this, I think it fits the channel theme and a modern look just kinda felt bland. But if others feel the same way it can certainly be changed in the future.
Added a new data column for most viewers on YouTube. Each time an item plays it will store the peak viewer count and then add them to the ranking. The columns are no longer limited to 8 items either, they remain 8 visible but scrollable down to 20.
