I do not know if this topic already exists here but I wanted to bring up this topic about next record expectations.
I will be more than glad if they talk about topics under their perspective of their biological age, recent experiences they have had maybe in the past 20 years. I mean, i dont want them sing about kool aids, rock and roll parties, prom queens and stuffs like that anymore or about how they were outlaws when they were younger. You know, meaningful lyrics, a mature point of view of life.
For the music, i think im gonna say something unpopular but I’d love to hear a sound similar to Say Goodbye(revrad track 4) because
I’ve always thought it sounds like modern rock and roll. Of course songs like murder city or bangers like bang bang couldn’t miss and a couple of strings/piano/acoustic songs.
So what do you expect in terms of lyrics, music or even tour?

What I’m expecting is basically a much better version of ¡Dos!.. something more Longshot sounding. I think Billie really likes the garage rock/old school rock sound rn so I imagine he’s going to lean into that.
Tour wise Im not expecting much. Definitely see 2 small shows happening (like Metro) but with FOB AND The Offspring/Sum 41 playing similar venues I imagine Green Day will follow suit. Outdoor amphitheaters. The setlist will be meh, not the exact same like Hella Mega but nothing special
I think we already have foam as a sequel for Dos haha. But i get your point and it will be interesting at this point of their career how they manage the setlist since there aren’t long sets anymore. More likely I’ll be hella mega set + 2 or 3 new songs and pretty much it.
I just want Billie to be motivated to be the best again, seems like he lost some of that drive. I really want them to blow people away that to they’ve “still got it” with this record
This is it for me too. I really want this album to be killer, not just for my own enjoyment but for the band to get some hype again. They will always be one of my favourites but I think it will be such a shame if it ends up being another relatively unpopular record like FOAM.
Obviously I can’t speak for any of them I don’t know how they feel but they must’ve known FOAM wasn’t really a hit for fans. I just don’t want to see them become one of those bands that barely writes music and only plays the hits on tours/festival circuits and just sort of fade out.
