So, I have a theme with my tattoos, that theyre related to bands I listen to and influence me but arent obvious. They can mean something else. So, my rose on my shoulder looks like a normal rose, but if you listen to Blue October, you know its from I Hope You’re Happy. I have flames on my arms for Chester from Linkin Park, but to anyone else it just looks cool.
So, what subtle tattoo ideas do you guys have? Something a Green Day fan would know straight away, but to everyone else its just a cool tattoo?
That little dude from the stray heart music video? personally it’s not one of my favorite of their songs but i think it’d be pretty recognizable to a gd fan
A few years ago an artist made a bunch of tattoo flash art for each album and posted them on r/greenday so just search up tattoo flash on the sub and you can see all those as well.
A guy on the subreddit has a tatoo of one of the planes form the Dookie album which is really cool. I also think Boom Cat is an overlooked symbol of Green Day
If you want REALLY subtle, I’ve seen someone on the subreddit do a pair of quotation marks (Redundant: “I’m a loss for words”)
I do realize that it is very hard to get the reference, so maybe the 21CB gas mask? Or the Xs for the trilogy
Some really good ideas here tbf. I quite like some of the stuff like the skulls with heart or cross eyes, or maybe one of the characters from the insomniac or dookie cover. The skulls especially are fairly subtle and quite a simple design that would be easy to tattoo.
