Not me, but I’m hoping for a good old fashioned album tour in 2023 where they play new songs and it’s not all greatest hits. I really enjoyed the shows I went to in 2021-22 (their energy is always off the charts) but I have to imagine even they were bored by the end of the same show every night. I imagine the festival shows will be the same as before.
Im holding out for a proper tour as well. I watched too many hella mega videos and just cant bring myself to go watch them do that setlist again. They are great live no matter what but ill pass on that.
Im hoping when 1972 is released they’ll go on world tour, ending with the festivals they have lined up in October. If they come to the UK Ill be going.
Great pictures! Man, it’s been so long since I’ve seen them that I’d take any setlist they threw at me.
It’s true that I find myself complaining about the setlist with the best of them then when I see them live it all goes out the window and I don’t care what they play. They are smart at picking the most fun, high energy sing along songs.
Unfortunately, no I live all the way in Canada and won’t be able to make it. I can only hope they announce something for here…
My fiancee and I are contemplating WWWY this year. We went to the first one for MCR and Paramore and had a blast, it’s just soooo expensive.
Rumor has it ticket prices dropped a ton the week on the festival so Im definitely thinking about going as well
They dropped significantly during August/September. You were able to pick up a basic GA ticket for like $80-$100 at one point. That was until one of the dates got cancelled and they absolutely skyrocketed in price.
I was going to go but I’m hanging my hopes on a summer tour instead with a hopefully more diverse set list than is likely to be played at a festival. Plus it’s a long way to travel for me and last year having a date cancelled due to wind makes me worry about spending all that money to go and having something like that happen again.
Yeah, I definitely understand the setlist concerns. I’m holding out hope that they might do something fun for the festival but this is Green Day we’re talking about lol
Yeah, the wind cancelation made me feel A LOT better about missing out. I had so many friends that basically threw money away thanks to that fiasco. I’m hesitant to even consider going this year.
It was definitely stressful. We were literally pulling up to the festival grounds as it got cancelled. It was a fiasco going onto StubHub at the same time as everybody else trying to buy up the cheap tickets for the next date. Luckily we were able to snatch up tickets that were face value, but honestly the fact that they cancelled made me feel at ease since they actually gave a shit. The festival itself the next day was actually relatively smooth. Only complaints I had were the terrible food lines.
I’m glad you were able to get in the next day!
Did you get into any of the small shows some of the bands played when it was cancelled?
Nope. Honestly didn’t even give it a try and I’m glad since they all turned out to be super chaotic for the most part. I am salty that I visited a record shop the day before and 4 hours later jxdn (one of the performers from the fest that I love) showed up and played a small acoustic set.
