One of the songs on Nimrod has got to go. Which one are you getting rid of?

Many people’s complaints are that this album is a few songs too long. While that may be true, I still think it’s a tough choice to get rid of a song that might be considered filler. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

  • Nice Guys Finish Last
  • Hitchin’ a Ride
  • The Grouch
  • Redundant
  • Scattered
  • All the Time
  • Worry Rock
  • Platypus (I Hate You)
  • Uptight
  • Last Ride In
  • Jinx
  • Haushinka
  • Walking Alone
  • Reject
  • Take Back
  • King for a Day
  • Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
  • Prosthetic Head

Kinda a hard one lol. Probably gonna get some hate for this, but I really don’t care for Platypus (I Hate You). It can be a good song, but it’s not really one I like to play and I usually skip over it.

Hey, this place would be boring if not for different opinions. Interesting enough, did you just get bored?

Easily Take Back. It just sticks out like a sore thumb and is very clearly a filler song. How a song like Take Back gets chosen for the record over Desensitized or Suffocate is beyond me.

I agree to an extent, but I think the inclusion of Take Back was necessary especially for an experimental album like this one. It borders metal/hard rock and the tracks like you mentioned on Shenanigans sound pretty Green Day to me. Of course I would love to have had those on Nimrod, but at least I can justify putting Take Back on the record (although admittedly not my favorite)

I think this song made me realize I don’t really care for fast rhythms. It’s more up in your face and lashing out with the power chords if you know what I mean.

Desensitized is honestly in my top 10 or 25 Green Day songs so I’m just salty it got confined to a b-sides record haha. I’d be willing to remove another song to put Desensitized on there. Take Back has always stuck out as my least favorite on Nimrod but I still don’t hate it!

No that makes total sense! What about a 19 song record… wonder how that would be

Honestly I’d probably make the tracklisting something like this

1.) Nice Guys Finish Last
2.) Hitchin a Ride
3.) The Grouch
4.) Redundant
5.) Scattered
6.) Desensitized
7.) Worry Rock
8.) Platypus (I Hate You)
9.) King for a Day
10.) Jinx
11.) Haushinka
12.) Suffocate
13.) Reject
14.) Uptight
15.) Good Riddance (Time of your Life)
16.) Prosthetic Head

I cut out Walking Alone, Last Ride In and All the Time. I threw in Desensitized and Suffocate in place of them. I also messed with the order a little bit.

Take back? Really? That’s one of their most unique songs. I mean isn’t this their only hardcore punk song?

Yeah, it’s definitely unique but it doesn’t hit for me. It’s a fine song but if they’re gonna pull off the hardcore punk sound they could do better.

Last Ride In is a snorefest for an already long album. Kills the momentum

I don’t know, I always thought it was cool

I actually really like Walking Alone. Not much love for it on the fandom but for some reason it hits right for me

I like it, but it’s an easy one to lose imo.

I wonder this EVERY TIME I listen to Shenanigans.

I would get rid of walking alone and last ride in

Gee, Walking Alone really hit for me for whatever reason. I like Last Ride In but if it wasn’t on the album and was on Shenanigans or something I feel that most of us wouldn’t really miss it.
