Thanks! Was going to save them for tomorrow but I made it about 5 minutes after seeing your post before listening lol. Loved them all, other than Tre Polka which sounded more like just messing around in the studio than an actual demo. Highlights of these were the new songs (aside from Tre Polka) and When It’s Time

I was a bit confused why this song was included lol. I thought When It’s Time was written around 2004, due to Billie showing it off to Rob in the Heart Like A Hand Grenade documentary. Just found out it’s from 1992.
Love this demo of the song and definitely gonna check out the other songs later!

As you said, When it’s Time is even older than Good Riddance it just took a long time for it to find a home and it never made a true Green Day album unfortunately. The song is beautiful but it’s only on the AI musical album. My favorite part of the 1992 version though are the harmonies with Mike which unfortunately don’t appear on this Billie solo demo. I can see them debating which ballad to use and I guess it was a good thing Good Riddance won out. Who knows what would have happened otherwise? When it’s Time is a beautiful love song but would it have been the monster hit of proms and weddings like Good Riddance? Doubt it

Yeah, while I love When It’s Time, I definitely think Good Riddance was the better choice for the album. It’s probably confirmation bias lol, but that song just has something. Also, GR works for tons of occasions, while WIT is strictly a love song, so I think it just has a wider appeal.

Oh man thank you so much for this! I was DYING to hear something and I cannot wait to listen to it all tomorrow. I absolutely love the when its time demo and Mike on vocals for a song is so cool! I actually think you irritate me was the best of the bunch so it was a good pick for a “single”.
