Both in my least favorite Band list. xD

Do you just not like their songs or is there a specific reason?

Don’t like their music and atleast in the case of Die Ƅrzte I don’t like the people behind 'em.
Tote Hosen for me are just Posers from what they say in interveiws, news and stuff.
But if you like their music I’m happy for you and it definitely wasn’t a front against you.

The Cure used to be hit or miss for me, but I’ve come to appreciate some more of their music.

Rotten is a fucking legend, still doesn’t give a shit what others think or say about him. To this very day a big legend.

I would be interested in how you see the recent articles about Rotten? He voted for Trump, for this reason he gets called a poser by many nowadays. What do you think about it?

Same, I really started getting into some more ā€œgothā€ music recently, and the cure are on a lot of goth playlists. I know they aren’t always strictly considered goth but they do stray into it a bit.

I know you directed this to the other commenter but I personally really dislike him and I do think he’s a poser. I don’t think you can really call yourself punk whilst being racist and backing someone like Trump. A lot of the things he stands for these days are very much anti-punk imo. Tbh I also don’t consider the sex pistols to be ā€œrealā€ punk music either in the sense of they were pretty much industry plants, created to promote a clothing store. That being said, I’m not here to shit on anyone or have arguments over this stuff, so if you like his music you do you :+1:

He can vote in the America? Is he a citizen? :man_shrugging:

I actually don’t know anything about his Trump supporting stuff but I heard an interview on BBC in 1978 where he called out DJ Jimmy Savile.

Johnny Rotten also hates Green Day, so that’s enough to make him bug me. But you’re right, can he vote in America?

Well, I actually do have to say that I’d probably also vote Trump over Biden from what I’ve seen (I’m not from the USA, could do explaining if needed.).

Bidens seems completely senile and can’t even put out a proper sentence… But USA politics are different anyway. I mean, nation of freedom but only got 2 Parties to vote from. :joy:

I think you can’t put everything into this right/left category, every view has some good point. (Except some stupid ass Nazi-Ideoligy (NS/Fascism).)

I am left and not a Trumpist/Trump-Fanboy but from what we hear in Europe Biden really is ready for the retirement home.

He is, he’s a resident in LA.

Could be argued, the first Punk-Bands (Arguably either The Stooges or The Ramones) we’re mostly not political at all. Infact Punk was meant to be not-political at first as a ā€œRevoltā€ against the highly politic Hippie-Movement. Johnny Ramone AND DeeDee Ramone for example we’re conservatives all along, the left-(ist) opinion came into Punk mostly through the underground and Bands such as The Clash/Sex Pistols.

I am myself rather a left-winged Person but I do think that the political View of a Band-/Member is not what really matters as long as it is not extremist. I think we should accept different opinions as long as they’re not completely mental or extremist, we don’t have to like them but acceptance should be granted.

Well, right now, I’m really into folk punk bands like AJJ and Days n Daze. Green Day will always be my favorite band tho
