Everyone pretty much just told twitter to suck it and refused to pay to be verified since it means nothing now but green day paid. Actually I think crush got their bands to do it because Weezer and Fallout boy are also paying. I’m low key embarrassed lol, next time they tweet the comments will be filled with “this motherfucker paid for twitter” memes
I mean the actual band members themselves are now unverified so it was probably Crush lol
lol it’s such an unreasonable thing to do for these bands considering you can see how long they’ve been on twitter and their follower number and easily discern that they are, in fact, the real Green Day, Weezer, and FOB. But hey, if Crush wants to waste money every month, that’s their prerogative.

But yeah, not sure why Crush bothered but it seems of the celeb accounts that have paid it is mostly bands so they don’t stand out as much in that regard.
Mmm I don’t use Twitter much at all but a lot of academics do (which is the field I’m in, I’m a biologist) so I mostly have it as a sort of professional thing…but increasingly I’m thinking that I should just delete it

Looks like not everyone lost their blue tick and now loads have been restored 
They gave Twitter Blue to any account that has more than a million followers, which is why Billie has his tick back and Mike doesn’t (Tre never had one for some reason). This is causing more drama since it falsely shows that they paid for it which many celebrities are taking issue with. Elon also trolled the accounts supporting the #blocktheblue campaign by giving them ticks to make it look like they subscribed. So much Twitter drama every day with Elon…
Love that they basically just did what the blue tick was meant to do in the first place, which is to verify that this is actually the public figure they claim to be. It was never some cool kid club. It was literally just identity verification to prevent a lawsuit lol. But hey, when you’ve got billions of dollars, what does it matter if you waste a few for a public temper tantrum!
And even though he gave them back to the big accounts it’s now meaningless as verification because you can still just pay and get one
My thoughts exactly, blue tick is meaningless. Honestly this whole fiasco is ridiculous. Elon Musk apparently just wakes up every day and chooses to act like a child, it’s such a shame that someone who could do so much good for the world chooses to be like this.
I say the same thing about Bezos and all those spoiled billionaires. Gates has done a lot at least
Yeah absolutely, I mean you don’t get that much money with exploiting people in some capacity anyway, but then just actively choosing to be a dick on top of that…I have major issue with most of them
